1.     Install a small pond with a boggy area, now we all can’t just head outside and dig a massive hole in the yard, however there are other options available. Create water sources in your yard, as big as you can manage. In addition, be sure to add perches such as stakes and even plants so they have places to land and hide. Don’t add fish! The female dragon flies will lay eggs underneath them, so look at types of water lilies for this. Submerged plants that are rooted, that will grow and rise above the water line are great also, as the dragon flies will use these for shelter and perching on from the nymph age through to adult hood, a good recommendation would be a water horsetail or similar.

SO, there you have it, 3 easy to follow simple steps to start attracting dragon flies to your place. Water Source, Boggy Environment and water plants. This doesn’t have to be a difficult task, be creative in your garden and use what you can. To create a little trickle water flow, pop on into your local hardware store and look for a simple solar powered pump. Remember, this doesn’t have to be done in a day, it can be ever evolving and changing.
